F.A.Q's
Chiropractic care is a non-invasive, drug-free healthcare approach to treating and preventing problems in the musculoskeletal system (bones, muscles, joints, cartilage, tendons and ligaments).
During your first visit, Dr. Brooke will discuss your health history, perform a physical examination, and may order some tests if needed. She will then discuss her recommended treatment plan.
Treatment plans are tailored to every individual. Factors such as the severity, duration and nature of your injury will determine how often you will require treatment. Patients with an acute injury may need treatments twice a week over a number of weeks whereas patients who are managing an injury may only need to be seen once a fortnight or monthly. This will be determined by Dr. Brooke.
Chiropractic care can be safe and beneficial for pregnant women. Dr. Brooke uses gentle techniques specifically tailored to support expecting mothers.
In most cases, the answer is no. Dr. Brooke will conduct a comprehensive examination that includes a detailed discussion of your health history and a thorough physical assessment. This will allow her to get a clear picture of your situation. If, during the examination, Dr. Brooke feels an X-ray would be beneficial to gather additional information for a more precise diagnosis, she will discuss this with you and provide a referral for imaging.
No, you do not need a referral to see any of our practitioners privately. However, if you are wanting to be covered by Medicare under the Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) or the Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) then a referral from your doctor is required.
An EPC plan offers individuals who meet certain criteria with the opportunity to have up to 5 sessions per calendar year covered by Medicare. Reach out to Dr. Brooke or your GP for more information.
A CDM plan offers individuals who meet certain criteria with the opportunity to have up to 5 sessions per calendar year covered by Medicare. Reach out to Dr. Brooke or your GP for more information.
The amount private health insurance covers is different for everyone as it depends on how much cover you pay for/have left for the year.
